No sense make ectos price 10g...you need something to add when items price its over 100k, ectos work good...the problem is not ectos as i said, but seller that want have a profit EXTREME HIGH with bad conversion of past price with present price.
If the community 1 years ago say : "Name Of Item" worth 500k and they say that the price in ecto was "XX" with E=4.5K what the problem do 500/7.5 instead 500/4.5????
I dont understand this...

The problem is that you'll sell all your ectos to the trader making them possibly 2k, but then other people will just buy them equally as fast making them go up to 7k again.

If people see that they're at 10g, as you want, everyone will be there, including me with my hefty 70k gold, buying 7000e in my case. Then, the trader will have sold out. Meaning ecto prices go up again. You would have to have a constant, never ending supply of ectos for this to work.

but thats the think ectos were never supposed to be a secure finantial investment they were just another item gold (in game) is the only thing completly secure if u lose it all on ectos your loss.

Selling to the trader: a waste of time. Once you push the price down, people will start buying ecto in droves from the trader. It's you against all the other money in Guild Wars. Guess who's going to win?
Why item prices don't change: The value of a commodity in an MMO is determined by the (average) amount of time necessary to farm it. The longer it takes to get the commodity, the more expensive it is. When you reduce the speed at which people can farm ecto, the price increases.
However, the number of ecto in circulation didn't change, so players' ability to pay for items didn't change. Demand remains constant (in the short run), and prices for items denominated in ecto don't change immediately. Eventually this will sort itself out for things that can still be farmed; people will switch to farming them because they are now more valuable.
If there were only one currency (gold) that could be traded in any amount, you would not see this problem. The artificial limits on amounts players can trade cause these fluctuations.

Ectos are THE most elite commerce good, don't expect them to be accessable to a new player. Learn english whilst you're figuring out how to get your ectos too, please.

There are 3 reasons ectos have risen in price
1) Speculators waiting for the SF nerf
2) Dhurrm
3) Increase in number of account thefts means more hackers are converting gold into ecto to be laundered.
Only Dhurrm is a long term affect that will keep ectos high. Everything else will pass and lead to deflation again. Also, ectos have a hard cap price at the trader of 100g (like every other rare material in the game).

i think u have to sell/buy like 100 rare mats for it to change. you can try it with a random one like spiritwood planks and see what the rate of change is.
